What Can Happen When God Speaks?

Things that didn’t exist before come into being.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Genesis 1:3

“But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
Matthew 27:17

For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, (as it is written, “A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS HAVE I MADE YOU”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

Enemies are silenced.

And you call upon the name of your god, and I will call upon the name of the LORD, and the God who answers by fire, he is God.” And all the people answered, “It is well spoken.”
1 Kings 18:24

Difficult circumstances are overcome.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Exodus 14:21

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!”
Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
Mark 4:39

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Cor 12:9

Hope is birthed.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future…”
Jer 29:11

After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”
John 11:11

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! God’s Words are powerful. And when He speaks a thing, He means it. And do you want to know something?…just one Word from the mouth of God can change everything. If you are willing to really really hear it, It can make you come to the end of yourself. It can challenge you to do things that you would never dream of doing. It can offer encouragement that you could never muster up on your own. It can shed light in the darkest of places and satisfy the deepest hunger. It can change your course of eternity.

God IS speaking…are you listening?
